<h3>Job Title: Systems Administrator</h3><h4>Role Introduction</h4><p><br />We are seeking a bright and trustworthy individual to join our technology team as a Systems Administrator. The team is responsible for delivering always-on services to a globally roaming workforce. We operate the majority of our services on-premise, adopting the latest technologies with an emphasis on security and resiliency. The candidate will be integral to the success of the team in day-to-day operations as well as in a multitude of varied projects. <br />The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment whilst holding themselves to the highest standards. They will be able to quickly adapt to new challenges and manage a continually changing workload whilst demonstrating meticulous attention to detail. The role would suit someone who has a deep love of technology beyond just a day job.</p><h4>Key Responsibilities</h4><p><br /><strong>Microsoft Technologies Management:</strong></p><ul><li>Administer and maintain Active Directory, DNS, IIS, Group Policy, DFS, Sites and Services, Microsoft Certificate Services, SQL Standard/Express, MDT, PowerShell, and Microsoft Cluster Services</li><li>Manage on-premise Exchange Servers, including administration via Exchange PowerShell</li><li>Ensure the highest performance and uptime of the Microsoft environment</li></ul><p><br /><strong>Virtualization and Storage Management:</strong></p><ul><li>Manage and maintain VMware vSphere and VMware vSAN environments</li><li>Administer and optimize VMware Horizon, VMware Aria, and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)</li><li>Handle backup and recovery operations using Veeam Backup, Exagrid, and HPE</li></ul><p><br /><strong>Security and Confidentiality:</strong></p><ul><li>Play a very active role in securing our company using best-of-breed security solutions and strategies</li><li>Participate in penetration tests and implement remediation measures</li><li>Continuously improve security protocols to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of company data</li><li>Administer Proofpoint for email security and ensure robust defence mechanisms</li><li>Carry out DR tests and assist in implementing business continuity strategies</li></ul><p><br /><strong>Infrastructure Maintenance and Optimization:</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain and monitor Dell server infrastructure</li><li>Perform regular updates, patches, and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance</li><li>Implement and follow best practices for system administration and infrastructure management</li></ul><p><br /><strong>User Support and Collaboration:</strong></p><ul><li>Provide white-glove service and support to users, ensuring their needs are met with empathy and professionalism</li><li>Collaborate with the IT team to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly</li><li>Maintain clear and accurate documentation of system configurations, changes, and procedures</li></ul><h4>Required Qualifications and Skills</h4><p><br /><strong>Education and Certifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Degree in computing or engineering</li><li>Formal training and certification in Microsoft Server technologies</li><li>Formal training and certification in VMware vSphere</li><li>Any other certifications are a bonus</li></ul><p><br /><strong>Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>Extensive experience with all Microsoft technologies listed above</li><li>Proven experience managing and maintaining on-premise Exchange Servers and using Exchange PowerShell</li><li>Experience with Veeam Backup, Exagrid, HPE StoreOnce, Proofpoint, Compellent, VMware vSAN, VMware vSphere, VMware Horizon, VMware Aria, and VCF</li></ul><p><br /><strong>Technical Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, IIS, Group Policy, DFS, Sites and Services, Microsoft Certificate Services, and Microsoft Cluster Services</li><li>Advanced level VMware administration skills, such as performance optimization, templates, DRS, vDS, esxcli, and storage profiles</li><li>Proficiency in managing backup solutions and storage technologies</li><li>IdP management, with experience of Okta and RSA beneficial</li><li>Microsoft SQL administration with MSCS and Management Studio</li></ul><p><br /><strong>Personal Attributes:</strong></p><ul><li>Trustworthy and capable of handling sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and discretion</li><li>High attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and a creative approach to challenges</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li>A team player with a positive attitude and the ability to empathise with users</li></ul><h4>Salary Range</h4><p>£65,000 - £75,000 per annum + £6 a day lunch allowance, excellent Pension Contributions</p><h4>Location Requirement</h4><p><br />This role requires the candidate to be on-site in Central London 5 days a week.</p><hr /><p><br />If you are passionate about technology and eager to take on new challenges in a dynamic environment, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.</p>
