My client are a start-up who provide data and analytics to several hundred of the continent's most prominent energy corporations. While much of the research is directed towards the oil and gas industry, a growing proportion is now concentrated on Green and renewable energy.

The company has thrived in recent years, doubling their headcount at their UK HQ since 2018 as well as growing internationally in Germany and Australia. There has also been no need to make redundancies or furlough staff in the aftermath of Covid19.

Within an office of 120 people, you will be working in a small operations team of 3 people while working collaboratively with the wider team, making for a fun and social environment.

What does the role involve?

  • Maintenance and enhancements of IT infrastructure

  • Administering systems and supporting users (both within and outside of the company)

  • Working with other teams, your team and also independently

  • 40% server and network maintenance (trouble shoot hardware and software issues).

  • 30% user support (2nd line support).

  • 30% software issues / speaking to users / Sys admin.

What do you need?

  • 2 + years' in IT as a Technician or in a similar role

  • Experience with Windows Server 2012-2019, current equipment and tech, as well as standard procedures e.g. monitoring and back up.

  • Cloud based server experience e.g. AWS

  • Network experience e.g. LAN, WAN, VoIP

  • DNS and DHCP

  • Patch management

  • VPN (firewalls, etc)

  • Troubleshooting - ticket per user (Windows 10)

  • Version control, project and app management and integrations

Bonus skills:

  • Reporting and documentation skills (Microsoft Office Suite)

  • Solving problems proactively

  • PM certifications e.g. Cisco/Microsoft

  • Communication skills

  • Be able to work to deadlines

  • You must be adaptable and resourceful
