Lead Ops Engineer- UK Wide

As a Lead Ops Engineer you will be responsible for leading teams to design, automate, build and operate modern digital service platforms. It's a fast-paced environment so it is important for you to make sound, reasoned decisions. You'll do this whilst learning about new technologies and approaches, with talented colleagues that will help you to learn, develop and grow. As the technical leader in the team, you will also interact with customers, share knowledge and mentor those around you.

Essential Experience:

Expertise in designing, building, testing, automating and operating modern digital service platforms.

Experience of technical ownership for components within a digital service platform that includes architecture, estimation, product planning, user story/requirement creation and iteration on MVP.

Technical leadership of teams to design and build components within a digital service platform that are scalable, resilient, efficient, secure, cost-effective and that minimise lock-in.

Expertise in using public cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, including SaaS and PaaS offerings.

Able to simply and clearly communicate technical design in conversation, documentation and presentation to a technical audience.

Experience of applying industry best practices and patterns across infrastructure and application components in relation to security, scalability and performance.

Expertise in the debugging, troubleshooting and root cause analysis of problems with digital services.

Mentoring and coaching members of your team and wider community

Extensive expertise in utilising the latest Continuous Delivery and automation techniques for releasing operationally ready software to production.

Desirable Experience:

Able to simply and clearly communicate with non-technical audiences.

Active participation in knowledge sharing activities within the team, at a wider capability level and externally where appropriate.

Experience of balancing technical decisions with user needs and commercial constraints. ​
