IT Operations Manager/ IT Manager/ Support Team Leader- Birmingham.
This is a great opportunity for somebody wanting to take the next step in their career and become a hands on IT Operations Manager.
The Operations Team Manager has day to day operational responsibility for the infrastructure of the groups Network ensuring availability, security, continuity and reliability of those systems, and the availability of the Local and Wide Area networks.
The Operations Team Manager is responsible for the following elements of the infrastructure through the management of the operations team:
The day to day availability of the server and network infrastructure;
Ensuring that each part of the infrastructure can be re-created/restored in case of failure, breakdown or emergency;
Monitoring and responding promptly to issues that arise on the network;
Technical supervision of Operations team and the development of their roles;
Responsible for ensuring that we have appropriate tools in place so that we can monitor and report compliance of company policies on email, security, and appropriate use of Internet to business users;
Implement and maintain standard builds and configurations;
To identify what is needed to achieve the above responsibilities and that the Group IT Director is aware providing the necessary resources;
To monitor and report spending and prepare budgets.
In addition, there will be several infrastructure-based development activities such as the replacement/upgrade of existing hardware and services, or the implementation of new hardware and services which will be run and developed to project standards. Such plans must be approved by the Technology Delivery Manager and Group IT Director.
The Operations Team Manager has responsibility for;
Assisting the Group IT Director in preparing the initial IT Infrastructure proposal and costs and ensuring that the proposed project has business benefit;
Submitting proposal for expenditure approval and permission to proceed;
Ensuring that detailed resource planning is completed;
Delivering the project on time and to agreed budget;
Ensuring that progress is reported regularly and that any identified issues are discussed and resolved;
Issuing tasks and establishing work involved to achieve deliverables across the IT Operations Team.
