Technology, Leadership, Talent Retention...
2020 was a challenging year for all and quite different from the one I expected, especially in my first full 12 months as Spinks MD.
Before we look ahead to a brighter year in 2021, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our incredible clients for continuing to choose us as their Talent Partner. And congratulate them on continuing their growth and development over a difficult and unprecedented 10 months.
I would also like to thank our awesome partners who have brought us great tech such as Hinterview, LinkedIn and Sourcebreaker, as well as those who have helped coach and train our people such as UHubs, Corndell and SeventhWave.
We’ve grown our partnerships over the year to include Angel Academe, The Growth Stage and Tech Talent Charter and whilst we haven’t been able to hold as many events in person we have moved many of them online, culminating in many more people being able to attend. We’re also pleased to be partnering with David Deacon from The Talent Office, who has spent a vast amount of his career advising businesses on leadership, strategy and their approach to their people and these insights we have shared with our clients. Seeing the continued success of our D&I event (UK’s 50 Most Influential Women in Tech Awards) we host in pertnership with Computer Weekly was a particular highlight for me in October. Congratulations to winner Anne-Marie Imafidon, CEO of Stemettes.
We’re proud to have supported our partners at School of Code to continue training tech talent, preparing their latest cohorts with a route into technology plus the skills and network they need to grow in their careers.
Finally I would like to thank the people that make Spinks such a great place to work - our Spinks team, who have persevered through the tough times with determination and care.
Looking forward to 2021, Spinks will continue building strong client relationships within the UK start up / scale up Tech sector. We’ve set up in Stockholm, in partnership with our friends at Alumni and we will expand in Berlin and across other tech hubs through 2021. We’ve seen our onsite talent solution, (Spinks on Site) going from strength to strength, enabling our clients to fill their niche tech roles quickly and with greater long term retention.
At Spinks it is important to us to promote greater inclusion in the workplace and driving positive change across the entire tech landscape. Removing barriers in the talent space for more diverse teams has always been our passion, so we look forward to more rewarding and insightful events and thought leadership from our YouEqualTech brand in 2021.
My last thought is to wish a successful year to all businesses and offer our support in their plans for growth, tech industry insights and new projects.
Happy New Year!
Managing Director, Spinks
